Mule account
人頭帳戶
A bank account or mobile number handed to a fraud ring to receive and move stolen money; those who provide them are often prosecuted for aiding fraud or aiding money laundering.
Ministry of Justice statistics define “simply providing a mule account” as giving a fraud ring a bank account or mobile number to use as a tool of crime without taking part in any other stage of the offence, whether the account was handed over willingly or under deception.
In 2025, of the 52,893 people convicted in final judgments of telecom and online fraud, 20,574, or 38.9%, had simply provided mule accounts, the largest group.
