TF1

Télévision française 1 · also TF1 Info, Les Vérificateurs

France's oldest national general TV channel, privatised in 1987 and controlled by the Bouygues group; its news site TF1 Info runs the fact-checking team Les Vérificateurs.

TF1 traces its origins to RDF Télévision française in 1944. It was established under the TF1 name in 1975 and privatized in April 1987, when it passed to the TF1 group, controlled by the Bouygues group.

In September, "Les Vérificateurs," the fact-checking section of TF1 Info, traced the origin of the TikTok video calling for people to take to the streets on October 17.
