Rassemblement national (RN)

Rassemblement national · also RN, Front national

The French far-right party, founded in 1972 as the Front national and renamed in 2018; led by Jean-Marie Le Pen, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella.

The Rassemblement national's predecessor was the Front national (FN), founded in 1972; it took its current name in 2018. Its party presidents have been, in order, Jean-Marie Le Pen (1972–2011), his daughter Marine Le Pen (2011–2021) and Jordan Bardella.

After the October 17 riots, nearly every forum was discussing the same question: whether the chaos would benefit the Rassemblement national in the 2027 French presidential election.
